Halo™ Laser Treatment in West Palm Beach, Florida

As time passes, skin loses its youthful glow because of sun exposure and the body’s natural aging process. Consequently, you could start to notice sun spots and fine lines, and wonder what happened to your natural radiance. In the past, lasers failed to effectively treat this issue due to their inability to target the precise depth. However, a Halo™ Laser treatment in West Palm Beach has revolutionized the industry, with a highly effective method of removing damage at the ideal depth.

Halo™ operates using two distinct wavelengths, ablative and non-ablative, to target skin concerns on multiple levels. The treatment can eliminate years of sun damage by triggering your body's natural healing response to reveal that Halo™ glow. This exciting new treatment improves skin texture and clarity for all skin types.

Benefits of Halo™ Laser Treatment

The Halo™ hybrid fractional laser is a revolutionary laser system for treating UV damage. Unlike other technologies on the market, this system offers the best of non-ablative and ablative laser treatments for skin rejuvenation and resurfacing, with minimal downtime.

With its unique ability to separate treatments for the epidermis and dermis, this machine allows us to precisely target the specific needs of each patient, resulting in amazing results and that Halo™ glow within their desired downtime. The epidermis heals quickly, while the dermis remodels over time.

The benefits of Halo™ Laser treatment include:

  • Improvement in epidermal and dermal pigmentation
  • Ability to customize the treatment to address specific skin damage
  • Improvement in skin tone, texture, fine lines, and wrinkles
  • Reduction in pore size and increased reflectivity and glow
  • Flexibility in treatment levels and downtime

With the Halo™ Laser, you can transform your skin with precision and effectiveness.

What Skin Concerns Can Halo™Treat?

A Halo™ treatment can address the following skin concerns:

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Acne scarring
  • Sun damage
  • Uneven skin texture or dull skin tone
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rough or irregular skin texture
  • Fine lines
  • Scars

We use a Halo™ hybrid fractional laser to treat fine lines and scars.

Am I A Good Candidate for Halo™ Laser Treatments?

Since Halo™ is a customizable treatment to address multiple skin concerns—from minimizing pores and fine lines and wrinkles to balancing an uneven skin tone, it's suitable for most patients.

For patients seeking a refreshed appearance the next day, a lighter Halo™ treatment might be the best choice, while patients desiring a significant removal and full rejuvenation may benefit from deeper treatment levels with just a few days of downtime.

What To Expect During Your Halo™ Laser Treatment

After discussing your goals for more vibrant skin with our patient counselor during a consultation, we will determine if Halo™ is right for you, then design a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. At your Halo™ appointment, we will apply a topical numbing product to your skin before beginning your Halo™ laser treatment. Using motion-tracking technology, we will measure the treatment area to obtain even results.

Will A Single Treatment Work, or Will I Need Multiple Treatments?

Whether a single treatment will suffice or if you’ll require an additional Halo™ treatment or many more treatments depends on your skin issues, including the visible signs of aging, extent of the sun damage, prevalence of acne scars, skin type, and other factors. If you seek deep dermal rejuvenation, more aggressive treatments may be necessary to reveal new healthy skin. What constitutes a complete skin rejuvenation treatment will vary for each individual.

Will I Experience Pain During My Halo™ Laser Treatment?

Most patients describe minimal discomfort during a Halo™ treatment, due to the topical anesthetic we use. Post-treatment, you may feel occasional prickling sensations that feel warm, but you’ll have very little discomfort. The tingling, warm sensations can last up to 30 minutes after your Halo™ laser treatment.

What Results Can I Expect with Halo™?

With your personalized Halo™ treatment, you can anticipate rejuvenated, glowing skin with improved tone and texture. Halo™ will remove discoloration and large pores to reveal a luminous and radiant complexion. You'll experience noticeable results within days and enjoy ongoing improvements for weeks to come.

Halo™ Recovery and the Healing Process

Recovery from Halo™ varies for most patients, based on whether they require light treatments or deeper treatments. Generally, you can expect some peeling in the 24 hours after a Halo™ treatment. Additionally, you could develop a lightly bronzed skin color 2 to 3 days post-treatment. Most patients can resume their regular activities the same day or the next day; however, you must protect your skin and follow post-procedure instructions.

Post-procedure instructions may include:

  1. Topical moisturizer: We may apply a topical moisturizer to the treated area after the Halo™ treatment.
  2. Avoid makeup: We generally recommend that you avoid wearing makeup for at least 48 hours following a Halo™ laser treatment to prevent irritation and possible infection.
  3. No exercise: To promote healing, refrain from exercising for 48 hours post-Halo™ treatment.
  4. Sun protection: Protecting your skin from sun damage is crucial after a Halo™ treatment. Avoid sun exposure and use UV sunscreen to shield the treated area from harmful UV rays.
  5. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs: Your skin may be more sensitive and prone to irritation post-Halo™. Saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs expose the skin to high temperatures and humidity, which can exacerbate redness, inflammation, and discomfort. Because bacteria and microorganisms thrive in these environments, open pores and a compromised skin barrier may increase the risk of infection.
  6. Do not pick at your skin: Picking at the treated area can cause complications and prolong the healing process, increase the risk of scarring and discoloration, promote infection, and interfere with the natural exfoliation process.
  7. Stop using tretinoin, Retin A, and Retinoids: As the skin heals, Tretinoin and Retinoids can increase the skin's sensitivity to external factors, including laser treatments like Halo™. Using these products in combination with laser treatments can potentially lead to increased redness, irritation, and discomfort, interfere with your desired outcomes for Halo™, and disrupt the natural healing process.

How Much Do Halo™ Laser Treatments Cost?

The cost of Halo™ depends on how many treatments you need and the intensity of the skin treatments. Because we can customize Halo™ to address each patient's unique concerns like acne scars, enlarged pores, skin tones, and other factors, the cost will vary. We will discuss your unique needs during your consultation. At Palm Beach Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, we offer CareCredit® and other financing options to help you obtain the right laser resurfacing so you can experience reduced pore size, revitalized skin cells, and an overall Halo™ glow.

Can I Combine Halo™ with Other Laser Beam Procedures?

Halo™’s versatility enables us to integrate it with various laser procedures in order to address specific areas of concern and achieve comprehensive rejuvenation. Combining Halo™ with laser resurfacing treatments like Erbium can enhance your skin's texture, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and diminish acne scars.

Pairing Halo™ with laser skin tightening procedures can further promote collagen production, resulting in firmer, tighter skin for a more youthful appearance. The specific combination of treatments you need depends on your unique skin condition and goals. During a consultation, our patient counselor will listen to your concerns, assess your individual needs, and develop a tailored treatment plan for optimal results while prioritizing your safety and well-being.

Our Faqs

Q

If I am seeking to undergo a combination of procedures, will they be done together or consecutively? What is the timeline for multiple procedures?

A

The answer depends on multiple factors, including the specific combination of procedures, your recovery rates, your age and health status, and your behaviors or habits. More invasive surgeries typically require recovery time ranging between 6 and 12 weeks to 6 months, and surgeries to the same area of your body will also generally require recovery time between procedures.

However, if you are in good health and the combination of procedures in question will be performed on different parts of your body and are not especially invasive, a combination of procedures could potentially be approved together on a case-by-case basis. It is imperative that the combination of procedures does not compromise your healing, and your attention to prescribed pre-operation and recovery habits also plays a significant role. Schedule a consultation for an assessment and guidance regarding the procedures you are considering.

Q

Will it be obvious that I “got work done” after my procedure?

A

While aging affects us all, there are steps we can take to put forth a more vibrant appearance. We seek to perform subtle adjustments to address imperfections and the wear of time while retaining your natural look. While you should notice an improvement, the glaring changes or distortions in appearance you are concerned about and may have seen from other surgeons’ work do not meet the standard of quality plastic and cosmetic surgery we perform in our office.

Dr. Frederic M. Barr is a board-certified Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeon with over 30 years of experience performing Plastic Surgery in South Florida. We enhance and refine your appearance according to your goals. Review our Gallery of Before & After Photos to see some examples of our work.

Q

What does Breast Explant Surgery entail, and will my breasts be “back to normal” after the surgery?

A

For patients with Breast Implant Illness (BII), which can include allergy, auto-immune, and thyroid hormone issues, this has been an emerging topic with significant press coverage in recent years. Although numerous medical professionals have demonstrated varying responses to these women’s concerns, we believe in addressing these women’s experiences and symptoms. In response to this phenomenon, we have also chosen not to perform new breast implant surgeries. We perform Total Capsulectomy on patients with breast implants, which involves the removal of both the saline or silicone implant and the capsule around it.

Removal of the implants and surrounding scar tissue has been shown to improve women’s health concerning these symptoms. While some women choose no further procedure following Breast Explant Surgery, some patients elect to have a Mastopexy procedure that involves reshaping the breast tissue for a pleasant cosmetic breast appearance. We welcome your specific questions regarding these procedures and their anticipated effects for your situation. See our Breast Implant Explantation (Total Capsulectomy) page for more detailed information, including before-and-after photo examples.
