Because it contains fewer proteins, Dysport® works when BOTOX does not because the body will not react as strongly to it.

Who is a Good Candidate for Dysport®?

While it can vary depending on age and health conditions, generally, patients above the age of 18 with good overall health seeking to temporarily improve the appearance of crow’s feet and glabella lines between the eyebrows are good candidates for Dysport®. Furthermore, patients should not have a history of allergies to Dysport® or its ingredients, including botulinum toxin, and must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.

What to Expect During a Dysport® Treatment

Using a very fine needle, we inject Dysport® into the muscles above your eyebrows and the bridge of your nose, forehead and crow’s feet. Performed with precision and attention to your personal needs, the treatment takes about 30 minutes or less.

What are the Most Common Side Effects of Dysport®?

Although generally safe and effective for laugh lines, glabella lines, crow’s feet, and moderate wrinkles, like most medical procedures, Dysport® can potentially have side effects that usually resolve in a few days, including:

• Mild pain
• Redness
• Swelling
• Bruising

These temporary side effects should dissipate within a few days after the treatment. You can use over-the-counter medication and cold compresses at the injection site to alleviate them. As always, tell your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen, and follow post-procedure instructions.

Preparing for Dysport®

Before undergoing your treatment, eliminating vitamins, aspirin, alcohol and other blood thinners, will result in less bruising and bleeding at the site of the injection. For the best results, avoid sun exposure and tanning beds.

The cost of treatments varies from patient to patient, depending on how many units are used to treat the forehead and eyebrows, as well as the number of injection sites. Although health insurance does not cover the cost of neuromodulators like Dysport® and BOTOX®, we accept CareCredit®, cash, checks, and credit cards, and offer other financing options.
