SkinPen® Microneedling — Reduce the Appearance of Scars, Wrinkles, Sun Damage, and Stretch Marks While Enhancing Your Skin’s Texture
At Palm Beach Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, our experienced team uses SkinPen®, the only FDA-approved microneedling device. With only three 30-minute sessions, you can enjoy remarkable results. Microneedling with SkinPen® is clinically proven, safe, and designed to give you the skin you desire.
Microneedling is suitable for all skin types and effectively enhances skin texture and appearance. It addresses various skin concerns such as stretch marks, scars, wrinkles, sun damage, and more — without the risk of skin discoloration commonly associated with other facial rejuvenation procedures.
Chemical Peels — Select Any of Several Targeted Options to Unveil Your Rejuvenated Look
Want to achieve a radiant, revitalized look? At Palm Beach Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, we have the perfect solution for your skin imperfections and signs of aging. Our highly-trained medical estheticians in West Palm Beach, FL, offer a range of chemical peels.
Chemical peels, also known as chemexfoliation, are cosmetic procedures that use chemical agents. Our chemical peels, which contain trichloroacetic acid, phenol, and salicylic acid, are specifically designed to treat unwanted skin conditions caused by sun damage, age, and other factors.
The beauty of this procedure lies in its simplicity. An application of a chemical solution to the skin initiates the separation and removal of the outermost layer. The underlying skin becomes smoother in texture and exhibits a more vibrant complexion compared to the outer layer. This straightforward and revitalizing solution is an excellent option for addressing concerns like wrinkles, acne, and overall skin texture or tone without invasive measures.
Chemical peels can address the following concerns:
- Wrinkles and deep creases
- Premature aging lines
- Uneven skin pigmentation
- Oily or acne-prone skin
- Large pores
- Reduction facial scars
Consider this subtle and non-surgical technique as an unveiling process, where layers of damaged skin gently dissipate to unveil your inner healthy skin for a rejuvenated look and enhanced self-assurance.

We Offer TCA Peel AND Glycolic Acid Peel
TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peels and glycolic acid peels are both chemical peels that can treat a variety of skin concerns, but they target different skin issues and have different strengths and side effects:
- TCA Peel: A medium-depth peel that’s stronger than glycolic acid and penetrates deeper into the skin. TCA peels are recommended for treating deeper wrinkles, scars, hyperpigmentation, and acne. TCA peels can cause more discomfort and heavier peeling than glycolic acid peels. Side effects include burning, redness, flaking, and sun sensitivity.
- Glycolic Acid Peel: A peel that’s effective for treating fine lines, hormonal acne, and large pores. Glycolic acid peels can also treat sun-damaged skin and precancerous cells
What to expect after both TCA and Glocolic Acid Peels
The downtime for this peel is moderate. It varies according to individual skin traits and selected concentration/application methods. During the healing process, there is usually little to no pain, but the skin looks as if it has been burned. After a few days (usually day 3 or 4), the top layer of your skin will naturally flake or peel away. This could last for 5-7 days on average, but there is a possibility that it may take longer. This process, in essence, reveals much clearer and smoother skin. If you are not too self-conscious about your appearance, you can work during this time frame.
Sunburn Alert: This product contains Trichloroacetic Acid, which may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and the possibility of sunburn. It is highly recommended that you wear a daily SPF sunscreen containing zinc oxide and titanium dioxide following the peel.
Side Effects of Both TCA Peels and Glycolic Acid Peels:
- A mild stinging sensation during the treatment
- Flaking skin or dryness for 7-10 days following the peel
- Temporary redness, this may last several weeks.
- Crusting or scabbing
- A change in skin color
Dermaplaning — Reveal a Natural Glow While Stimulating Collagen Production
Dermaplaning provides a natural rejuvenation to your facial appearance, gently removing surface layers to reveal a fresh, youthful radiance. Dermaplaning also stimulates the production of collagen, promoting natural and rejuvenating outcomes. The common misconception that hair grows back thicker after Dermaplaning is fortunately only a myth, making it a regular and preferred revitalization option for many patients.
Often, patients choose to combine Dermaplaning with a chemical peel for even more remarkable results. Ultimately, Dermaplaning offers a simple, yet effective method to restore a familiar glow to your face.
TearCare® — Effectively Combat Dry Eye Symptoms When Artificial Tears Are Not Enough
Dry eye syndrome, also known as dry eye, happens when the eyes lack sufficient moisture and lubrication. This chronic condition causes eye irritation and significantly impacts one’s quality of life. In some cases, it can even lead to eye infections or scarring of the front surface of the eye. At Palm Beach Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, we offer TearCare® as an effective solution to this common problem.
Dry eye is a prevalent issue, affecting approximately 20% of Americans. It is especially common in older individuals who naturally produce fewer tears. Other factors that increase the risk of dry eye include:
- Smoking
- Wearing contact lenses
- Taking medications for high blood pressure or any other prescription drugs that reduce tear production
- Having a history of refractive surgery
- Spending long hours in front of screens
- Being exposed to low humidity environments
Dry eye affects females more frequently — especially during pregnancy, while using hormonal birth control, or going through menopause.
Dr. Fredric Barr is proud to be the first plastic surgeon in the country to offer TearCare® for dry eye symptoms. This revolutionary treatment provides relief for those suffering from dry eyes. By utilizing advanced technology, Palm Beach Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery aims to improve the quality of life for individuals experiencing dry eye symptoms. If you are seeking relief from dry eyes, you schedule a consultation and inquire about our TearCare® treatment.
