VI Peel Body in West Palm Beach, FL
VI Peel Body is the first and only professional-grade chemical body peel on the market. Suitable for all skin types and tones, it effectively combats pigmentation, body acne, scars, and stretch marks.
Skin Care Doesn’t Stop With Your Face
Like most of our clients, you’re probably juggling the competing demands of work and personal life. When you have so many things on your to-do list, it’s hard to find the time for even a simple facial skincare routine, let alone a body skincare routine.
At Palm Beach Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, we offer VI Peel Body — a unique chemical peel specifically formulated to remove dead skin and stimulate rapid cell turnover below your neck in just 30 minutes.
VI Peel Body: A Revolution in Chemical Peels
Unlike virtually all other peels in the VI series, VI Peel Body doesn’t target the face. This innovative treatment is the first and only professional-grade body peel suitable for all skin types and tones.
VI Peel Body exfoliates dead surface cells to reduce the appearance of imperfections and reveal healthy, glowing skin underneath. Many clients see the best results of this peel on their décolleté, the skin below the neckline. Confidently wear lower-cut necklines without worrying about the appearance of your skin!
The procedure is suitable for a wide range of skin concerns, including:
- Body acne
- Surgical scars
- Stretch marks
- Pigmentation
- Keratosis pilaris (chicken skin)
What Are The Active Ingredients Of VI Peel Body?
The skin on your body is up to three times thicker than the skin on your face. Conventional VI Peels can’t penetrate deep enough to produce significant results.
VI Peel Body employs a high-performance blend of acids and conditioning agents that work in synergy to go beyond the reach of traditional chemical peels, effectively alleviating or improving the appearance of multiple skin conditions.
- Glycolic acid: Instantly exfoliates dead surface cells to soften and brighten the skin.
- Lactic acid: Simultaneously hydrates and firms the skin and lightens hyperpigmentation.
- Trichloroacetic acid (TCA): Penetrates the skin to smooth out wrinkles, diminish the appearance of pigment, and fight acne.
- Mandelic acid: Suppresses pigment and reduces excessive oil production.
What To Expect From Your Treatment
Most VI Peel Body procedures take around 30 minutes, but the session could be slightly longer if you’re treating a larger surface area.
To start, the esthetician will thoroughly cleanse your skin to remove any impurities. They will then apply two layers of the chemical blend. After the first layer, you may experience mild numbness and tingling.
At this point, your skin will turn white. Don’t be alarmed — this is a standard part of the process. We call it “skin frosting,” and it is temporary.
Once you get home, rinse off the chemical solution four to six hours after the treatment using a gentle cleanser. Your skin will start peeling and shedding the dead layers in about three days, progressively revealing the healthy young skin underneath.
The peeling should stop in seven to ten days, and you’ll be able to enjoy your refreshed complexation for up to 14 days after that.
VI Peel Body Aftercare Tips
The best way to prevent unwanted side effects and get the most benefit out of your VI Peel Body treatment is to exercise proper aftercare.
- Allow your skin to recover: Don’t apply creams or lotions before rinsing off the chemical peel. Then, only apply a post-peel protectant and a gentle moisturizer for sensitive skin as directed by your esthetician.
- Keep your skin clean: Wash your skin with water and a mild cleanser regularly and as instructed by your esthetician.
- Stay out of the sun: If you must go outside, wear long sleeves or trousers to protect the treatment area.
- Don’t get other treatments: Avoid getting other cosmetic procedures until your esthetician gives you the all-clear.
Is A VI Peel Body Right For You?
VI Peel Body treatments are suitable for all ages and skin types but not for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
If you have dark skin, ask your physician or esthetician for tips on aftercare to prevent side effects, as you may be at a higher risk of developing skin discoloration.
