Treatments that hyper-focus on specific skin concerns can be highly effective.
But sometimes, your skin craves a little of everything — from cleansing, exfoliating, and smoothing to brightening, toning, and hydration.
Here’s where VI Peel Original comes in. It is one of our most popular treatments at Palm Beach Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, and with good reason. Thanks to the delicate balance of effective yet gentle ingredients, this peel gives your skin an overall boost without causing irritation.
At our practice, you can choose from six chemical peels known as VI Peels.
Most of these target specific skin problems, such as aging, hyperpigmentation, active acne, or scarring.
VI Peel Original is different. Unlike other peels from the VI series, this treatment is suitable for all age groups and skin types and can benefit a wide range of skin concerns. It gently refreshes, rejuvenates, and resets your skin with minimal to no irritation.
VI Peel Original is particularly well suited for treating:
VI Peels are medium-depth chemical peels that break through the top layer of your skin, also known as the epidermis, reaching into the middle layer or the dermis underneath. The specially formulated blends of potent active ingredients penetrate and exfoliate your skin, breaking down dead cells and stimulating the production of new skin layers.
This accelerated exfoliation smooths your skin’s texture and helps decrease the appearance of pigmentation issues and signs of aging. The result? Supple, glowing skin and a younger-looking complexion.
The procedure itself takes only 30 minutes. Your esthetician will remove any oil, dirt, and impurities from your skin and apply two layers of the chemical blend. The treated area will then “frost” or turn white, which is temporary.
You must wash off the peel with a mild cleanser four to six hours later. The dead skin usually starts to peel three days after the treatment. In most cases, the shedding lasts seven to ten days. When the peeling stops, it will reveal a refreshed, glowing complexion.
Proper aftercare is critical to avoiding potential complications and maximizing the effects of your treatment.
Be sure not to apply any creams or lotions before washing off the peel. After that, apply a post-peel protectant as instructed by your esthetician.
Stay away from harsh chemicals while your skin is peeling. Don’t get any facial procedures. Use a gentle moisturizer for sensitive skin, and wash your face with a mild cleanser.
Most importantly, stay out of the sun as much as possible. If you must go outside, wear SPF 50+ sunscreen and a hat.
Chemical peels are non-invasive treatments with minimal side effects.
Complications are even less likely with VI Peel Original: It’s a peel for all skin types that is well tolerated even by sensitive skin. Most people experience mild numbness and tingling when the esthetician applies the chemical peel, but no significant discomfort.
Other possible but rare side effects include:
Consult with your physician if you experience any of these symptoms.
VI Peel Original suits all age groups, skin types, and skin tones.
However, you may be at a higher risk of developing skin discoloration if you have a darker skin tone or use estrogen, so we recommend booking a consultation before getting the treatment to learn how to avoid unwanted side effects.
You shouldn’t get VI Peel Original or other chemical peels if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

The answer depends on multiple factors, including the specific combination of procedures, your recovery rates, your age and health status, and your behaviors or habits. More invasive surgeries typically require recovery time ranging between 6 and 12 weeks to 6 months, and surgeries to the same area of your body will also generally require recovery time between procedures.
However, if you are in good health and the combination of procedures in question will be performed on different parts of your body and are not especially invasive, a combination of procedures could potentially be approved together on a case-by-case basis. It is imperative that the combination of procedures does not compromise your healing, and your attention to prescribed pre-operation and recovery habits also plays a significant role. Schedule a consultation for an assessment and guidance regarding the procedures you are considering.
While aging affects us all, there are steps we can take to put forth a more vibrant appearance. We seek to perform subtle adjustments to address imperfections and the wear of time while retaining your natural look. While you should notice an improvement, the glaring changes or distortions in appearance you are concerned about and may have seen from other surgeons’ work do not meet the standard of quality plastic and cosmetic surgery we perform in our office.

For patients with Breast Implant Illness (BII), which can include allergy, auto-immune, and thyroid hormone issues, this has been an emerging topic with significant press coverage in recent years. Although numerous medical professionals have demonstrated varying responses to these women’s concerns, we believe in addressing these women’s experiences and symptoms. In response to this phenomenon, we have also chosen not to perform new breast implant surgeries. We perform En Bloc Capsulectomy on patients with breast implants, which involves the removal of both the saline or silicone implant and the capsule around it.
Removal of the implants and surrounding scar tissue has been shown to improve women’s health concerning these symptoms. While some women choose no further procedure following Breast Explant Surgery, some patients elect to have a Mastopexy procedure that involves reshaping the breast tissue for a pleasant cosmetic breast appearance. We welcome your specific questions regarding these procedures and their anticipated effects for your situation. See our Breast Implant Explantation (En Bloc) page for more detailed information, including before-and-after photo examples.
