WEST PALM BEACH, Florida—Dr. Fredric M. Barr, M.D., F.A.C.S., announces his participation in an upcoming Well World TV docuseries, Under My Implants. The reality-based TV program explores the heartfelt stories beneath women’s implants, the factors that lead them to surgery, and the healing journey behind the process of getting the implants removed.

Executive Producer and Host Debra K delves deeply into the heart of these stories about women who turned to cosmetic surgery to change their bodies. The pilot episode introduces audiences to Palm Beach Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery patient Emilia Lujan, who courageously shares her breast implant journey. Although Lujan opted for breast implants at one point, she later chose to undergo surgery with Dr. Barr to remove them due to some complications she experienced. “Whether you have implants or not, we all have experiences that cause us to doubt ourselves,” says Lujan. “Society seems to want me to be perfect, but I’m not. And now, I’m learning how to love myself just as I am.”

Among other experts, Under My Implants features Dr. Fredric M. Barr, who, along with his colleagues, understands his mission is to educate and empower patients to make the right decisions for their unique circumstances, health, and well-being. “It is an honor to be included in this exceptional docuseries about breast implants and breast implant illness,” says Barr. “I believe physicians have an obligation to listen with empathy to their patients, understand their goals, and make recommendations based on their individual needs and desires. In 2019, I stopped performing breast implant surgery due to growing concerns that breast implants could be harming women’s health. Some patients have reported symptoms such as diffuse hair loss, fogginess, skin changes, fatigue, and thyroid issues, among others. Although science has not yet determined a direct link between breast implants and these symptoms, I take my patients’ complaints seriously and address them as soon as possible. If they feel their implants are causing them harm, my job is to remove them. I’m thankful that this new docuseries will reach women worldwide who may be suffering in silence and unsure of what to do next. I’m grateful to Well World TV, Debra K., and everyone who made it possible for me to participate in this vital effort.”

The series debuts on February 26. Watch the trailer below for more information.
