WEST PALM BEACH, Florida - Dr. Fredric M. Barr, M.D., F.A.C.S., and Palm Beach Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery announce their support of the 9th Annual Holiday Hoedown by the Sea to benefit KidSanctuary Campus and Place of Hope. Barr, an Honorary Trustee, and his Patient Coordinator Carla Pisani, a Professional Partner in KidSanctuary Campus, have been active supporters of the organization since its inception, with Pisani serving as co-chair for previous years’ fundraisers.

The 9th Annual Holiday Hoedown by the Sea takes place on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pelican Club in Jupiter, Florida. The evening will begin with a Spirits & Luxury Raffle, followed by a Holiday Feast and Festivities. Tickets are $250 per person and $2,500 for a table of ten. If you would like to purchase tickets or become a sponsor, click here. The money the event raises will go directly to KidSanctuary Campus and Place of Hope to continue their excellent work for abandoned and abused Palm Beach County children.

The History of KidSanctuary Campus

In 2009, Connie Frankino learned that the local foster care system was in crisis, with dozens of children removed from their homes each month due to abuse and neglect. These hurting children felt unloved and abandoned, and Connie decided to do something about it. Realizing it would take a team to be successful, she brought in Place of Hope as the management organization partner to run all programs. KidSanctuary Campus was born to ensure that each child who lives on the campus receives the benefits of a sense of belonging and permanency in a caring and positive environment that nurtures self-esteem and hope.

Construction began in 2012 to build four residential family-style foster homes. The first of the four, the J.M. Rubin Cottage, opened in 2012 to serve six children. In 2014, a second cottage, The Dodero Cottage, welcomed six girls into their new home. Another boys’ cottage, Sam’s Cottage, opened in 2015, becoming the third family-style foster home on the campus. The fourth and final cottage, the Sprayregen Family Cottage for boys, opened in 2018. Finally, in 2022, The Angel Crossing Enrichment Center opened on campus, providing education and enrichment opportunities. From Frankino’s original vision emerged one campus with four cottages, and hundreds of children’s lives changed.

On August 1, 2022, Frankino and the Board donated the campus and gave ownership to Place of Hope to continue the legacy she created. Since KidSanctuary Campus opened its doors, 133 children have found refuge, healing, love, and a brighter future.

“I’m proud to support KidSanctuary Campus, Place of Hope, and the 9th Annual Holiday Hoedown by the Sea,” says Barr. “Since KidSanctuary Campus’ inception and partnership with Place of Hope, the lives of 133 abused, neglected, and abandoned children in Palm Beach County have been transformed. With continued support from the community, we can change the lives of many more kids in the local foster system. I look forward to another successful fundraiser.”

“I welcome everyone in the community who cares about foster children to come out and enjoy the 9th Annual Holiday Hoedown by the Sea,” adds Pisani. “We have another fabulous evening planned for guests, with all proceeds benefiting KidSanctuary Campus and Place of Hope to allow them to continue to rescue, nurture, and educate at-risk children in Palm Beach County. I’m proud to support this worthy cause.”

About KidSanctuary Campus

KidSanctuary Campus is a charitable organization in Palm Beach County committed to assisting children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. We are continuing to build a five-acre residential facility with homes, an enrichment center, and play areas. Palm Beach County graciously donated this land for our project. The campus includes 24-hour care and housing for the children who are considered the most vulnerable in the foster care system. KidSanctuary Campus brings in expert, professional foster parents who raise the children living in our homes. They provide comfort, security, and consistency. It is often the first time these children are in such a safe, structured environment. They may stay until reunited with their parents, or they are adopted by a family.

Mission

KidSanctuary Campus is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing a safe home for abused, abandoned, and neglected children in Florida.
