Nose Reshaping and Nasal Reconstruction Provide Facial Balance and Symmetry

Nose Reshaping or Rhinoplasty is a common procedure that not only creates a significant change in balance and symmetry of a person’s face, but also can make a world of difference in the way a person faces the world and feels about their image.

This procedure can be performed on mature teenagers, as nasal growth and development occurs until this age. Older patients often include nasal reshaping in combination with facial procedures for optimal results.

Noticeable nasal irregularities in shape and symmetry as well as indentations can be improved with filler injections such as Juviderm® and Restylane®. These results are temporary but in combination with nasal reshaping, can provide desirable results.

Nasal reshaping can smooth out a bump in the nose and reshape the nasal tip. Breathing issues caused by a nasal obstruction such as a deviated septum can be corrected through nasal reshaping and cosmetic rhinoplasty procedures.

Additionally, refinements of the nose may be made with cartilage grafts taken from the inside of the nose or cartilage in the ear to help reshape the nose.

Nose Cancer Reconstruction is a reconstructive nasal reshaping procedure. The goal of reconstructive plastic surgery is to give a more balanced, symmetrical appearance after a surgical procedure such as cancer removal on the nose. Skin grafts from other areas of the body are used to give the nose a more natural appearance, and oftentimes this procedure can be performed with local anasthesia.
