Plastic Surgery Loan for Lebanese Citizens

The First National Bank of Lebanon is offering Plastic Surgery Loans of up to $3,000 without collateral with a term of 6 months to 2 years for Lebanese citizens and up to $5,000 with collateral and you can prove you have a job with income over $900 monthly. The promotional phrase they are using states, "Beauty is no longer a luxury." One of the oddities is that the loan is limited to those NOT of retirement age. So only those 63 and younger at time of application need apply.

According to a NPR news story, the bank is receiving up to 200 calls a day about the loans.

"Statistical studies showed that there is a huge increase in this sphere -- in beautification surgery," George Nasr, the bank's marketing manager said, "We like to look our best ... There are people who see this loan as their life raft,"
